THAMES 2023: The Place I Love

Young people around the UK working alongside the nation’s finest musical talents to make music and create soundtracks for animated stories that celebrate their lives and their communities.

For a fifth year the Lights Camera Score team were delighted to work alongside the Tower Hamlets Music Service (THAMES) music service with support from our partners at the English Chamber Orchestra.

Five primary schools and two area wide ensembles have joined this year’s Lights Camera Score event which develops this year’s theme of, ‘The Place I Love’.

 

In April 2024, we welcomed new schools in to the project as well as initiating side-by-side performance opportunities with English Chamber Orchestra players.

 

Composers from the Royal Academy of Music continue to be involved in delivering alongside the LCS team and we are delighted that THAMES tutors are now taking lead in delivering these wonderful composition and instrumental projects.

In addition to the school projects, the LPBN team once again worked with area wide ensembles at the Saturday (SMC) and Wednesday (WMC) Music Centres.
