Lights Camera Score: 2022
Back in March four primary schools in Tower Hamlets embarked on a mission to create four mini movies on the subject of Robots.
Immediately following the Easter Break, with scripts written and animation teams briefed the Lights Camera Score composition team commenced work with two year six groups, two year five groups, THAMES Concert Orchestra and the Wednesday Music Centre Orchestra.
In the opening week, students at the Saturday music centre had the unique opportunity of working with Dan Newell (Principal Cornet of the Royal Opera House) and the Billy’s Band Quintet in film and music workshops providing an initial introduction to studio performance and music production.
The LCS team were also delighted to accept the challenge of assisting students at Wednesday and Saturday Centres to perform their film scores, in sync with picture, at their summer concerts.
The outcomes this year have produced exceptional musical results – if you want to listen to the recordings without the accompanying films please click below.
The Primary Schools
After a seven week course delivered across the participant schools, six brand new scores were created based on student films and in June and July the students themselves rehearsed and recorded the music to accompany the amazing robotic adventures.
With the assistance of THAMES instrumental tutors groups numbering between 30 and 60 students have joined forces and demonstrated brilliant instrumental skills to bring their music to life.
