Calderdale 2024

Project supported by Arts Council England, Calderdale Council
& the D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.

Young people around the UK working alongside the nation’s finest musical talents to make music and create soundtracks for animated stories that celebrate their lives and their communities.

Calderdale 2024
Throughout the first six months of 2024, Little People Big Noise and the English Chamber Orchestra worked with Calderdale Council and Calderdale music on a Lights Camera Score project based on the theme of The Place I Love.

Supported by Lottery Funding from Arts Council England, Calder Council and the D’Orly Carte Charitable Trust, pupils in Calderdale schools created stories collaborating with award-winning screenwriters and producers.

The resulting stories were animated into short films by media industry professionals at Three Stones Media whilst pupils at the participating schools embarked on composition courses to create the soundtracks for their films.

Pupils participating on the project were able to perform their composition alongside members of the English Chamber Orchestra at a very special concert on 9th June 2024 at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax. Songs were a bit feature at the end of each of the student stories.
